As the Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to make headlines as it spreads across the world and the number of cases in our area increases, it is necessary that we take proactive measures. While this stressful situation leaves a lot to be uncertain about, we continue our mission of providing your pets’ with the utmost care possible. To do this, we ask that you read the following information about our office’s plan for the upcoming weeks.
The primary concern with the virus is human health, as multiple international health organizations have indicated that pets are not considered at risk for contracting COVID-19.
Throughout this outbreak we have been actively following CDC guidelines for handwashing and continuous surface disinfection throughout the day. We are using EPA registered disinfectants and alcohol-based cleansers on all surfaces and objects, as directed by the CDC.
To limit the spread of this disease, our team will be implementing a ‘de-densification’ protocol in our office to create a safe and clean environment for you and your pets.
In order to assist us in thoroughly disinfecting high contact areas such as our waiting and exam rooms as frequently as possible, we ask that you abide by the following guidelines in the coming weeks:
Please arrive at the office at your scheduled appointment time. This will allow us to efficiently see you and your pet while limiting any crowds in the office.
If there is a crowded parking lot when you arrive for your appointment, call us before coming in the office. We will direct you into the office at the best time.
If you are picking something up from the office (including medications), please call ahead. We will prepare whatever you need and bring the items directly to you in your vehicle in our parking lot.
Our team is taking every suggested preventative measure to limit exposure to the virus and the spread of germs. Based on the guidelines provided by health officials and the plans in place for our patients’ treatment, we feel prepared to deal with COVID-19. Due to the rapidly changing situation, we will continue to monitor it on a daily basis and keep you updated as needed.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please let us know.
